Library accepts Rotary Club’s donation. Shown holding the check are Amy Stone – Library Director, and Aaron Hagan – Rotary member; others from Left are: Sally Dunning President of Library Trustees, and Friends of the Library Mary Hubka, Debbie Szok, Therese Johnson and Carol Bibeau.
The Bridgton-Lakes Region Rotary Club contributes $500.00 to the Friends of the Bridgton Public Library. These funds help to compensate for the loss of revenue from the annual July Book Sale that could not be held in 2020 due to Covid-19.
Books contributed by many in the greater Bridgton community are stored in the Book Shed in the corner of the BPL parking lot. To make room for additional book donations the shed was re-organized by the Friends.
This allowed over 725 books in several genres to be offered free of charge at the Harrison Food Bank under a Friends’ project named Food-for-Thought.
With this donation the Rotary Club extends its multi-month support of local food pantries with Health and Wellness Packets and boxes needed during food distribution days.
